Rainbow Competitive League – Fall 2023

About Competitive Rainbow League:
Rainbow Competitive League is an LGBTQIA+ community safe space that invites veterans of Rainbow League and other experienced Dodgeball Seattle players to compete at the highest level. We maintain all the amazing values that Rainbow League stands for, and will continue to prioritize community, accountability, and representation.
We created this space for players who have developed a strong foundation, and demonstrate the skill set, work ethic and teamwork needed to take their dodgeball game to the next level. We focus on fostering a competitive spirit, developing advanced skills and strategies, and working cohesively as a team. The atmosphere is intense, but integrity and respect for one another always come first.
Rainbow Comp League requires a minimum of 1-2 seasons of experience in either Rainbow League, Social League or other comparable league/tournament experience. If you have any questions about eligibility or if Rainbow Comp League might be right for you, please contact our league organizers at rainbowcompleague@dodgeballseattle.com.
After polling our players, the league is adding an annual no-sting (rubber) season, starting this fall. The aim is to give our players experience with this ball type ahead of a large queer no-sting tournament in January. We will be back to foam for the winter season.

Player Cap:
We are bringing Queer dodgeball to Garfield Community Center! There will be two courts playing simultaneously.
If there are more registrations than roster spots available, we will first refund any players that do not meet the experience requirements. If we remain oversold, we will then give preference to queer-identifying and under-represented players that meet the experience requirements mentioned above, and there will be a lottery to determine remaining players who are selected for the league.
Those not selected will be refunded after the lottery, and will be added to our sub list for captains to draw from throughout the season. Subs will be welcome every night excluding finals night, at no cost, up to 3 times per season.

Rainbow Competitive foam provides a space for players to strengthen skills and hone their strategic gameplay in a supportive team setting. We want Seattle queer players competing at the highest levels regionally and nationally, all while representing the values that make our community so strong. We play by the honors system. If you get hit or step on a boundary line, go out. Court officials will be there just in case you miss something.
